Rev. Ressetar Given Plaque

Rev. Daniel Ressetar, pastor of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, McAdoo, was honored at a dinner program Saturday night that highlighted the two-day district orthodox convention held at Holy Trinity Church over the weekend.

Rev. Ressetar was presented with a plaque for his devotion to the Central Pennsylvania District and his work in propagation of orthodoxy. The pastor was to fly today to Texas where he volunteered to serve as chaplain at an Air Force base.

The convention concluded yesterday with the election of the following officers: John Dudash, Frackville, governor; Robert Kutch, lieutenant governor: Helen Ambrosavage, St, Clair, corresponding secretary; Mary Diffenderfer, Frackville, recording secretary; Stephanie Chmel, Coaldale, treasurer. Members of the nominating committee were Myron Stanchak, Mt. Carmel, and Eleanor Hawrianick, Frackville.

At Saturday night's dinner honoring Rev. Ressetar, the pastor gave the welcome, Past-Governor John Lorchak, Hauto, presented remarks.

Andrea Perbetsky, who won the national oratorical contest at the national orthodox convention in Chicago, presented her oration, “The World Role of the United States in the 60s.”

The main speaker was Apollo Manchuk. national treasurer of the Federation of Russian Orthodox Clubs.

Guests included Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Pavelchak, Coaldale, and Atty. and Mrs. Adam Bavolack, McAdoo.

No successor has been appointed yet to succeed Rev. Ressetar but Rev. Pavelchak will be on call in the interim.
